Schomburgkia crispa is found from Colombia, Venezuela, Fr Guyana, Guyana, Surinam and Northern Brazil at lower elevations as a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clavate-fusiform, compressed, angled and sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by several membraneous, acute sheaths and carrying 2 apical, rigid, coriaceous, erect-patent, apically recurved, oblong, cuneate and lightly concave below into the base leaves that blooms in the summer on a racemose to sub-umbellate, many flowered, 60 to 110 cm long, robust, terete inflorescence.
