Eria aporoides is found in the Philippines, Celebes and New Guinea in lowland forests at elevations up to 1000 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with erect stems carrying imbricating, overlapping, fleshy leaves arranged in alternate 2 ranks that blooms in the late winter, spring, summer and fall on a short, single flowered inflorescence arising from the leaf axils, with 4, large, orange bracts at the base of the fragrant flowers occuring.
