Dendrobium tetragonum var. gigantea

Dendrobium tetragonum var. gigantea is a striking epiphytic orchid prized for its robust growth habit and spectacular floral displays. Native to tropical regions, this Dendrobium variety produces tall, cane-like pseudobulbs bearing clusters of fragrant, long-lasting blooms in shades of cream, yellow, or white with deep burgundy accents.

This vigorous grower thrives in bright, indirect light and appreciates warm to intermediate temperatures with good air circulation. Water moderately during the growing season, reducing frequency as blooms develop. Provide well-draining orchid bark medium and repot every two years to maintain plant vigour.

The gigantea form is larger and more floriferous than the species type, making it an excellent choice for collectors seeking a dramatic specimen plant. Its extended flowering season and generous bloom production reward patient cultivation with months of elegant colour. Ideal for greenhouse growing or bright indoor positions where warmth and humidity can be maintained.
