Dendrobium lancifolium

Dendrobium lancifolium is found in lowland areas along watercourses on dry calcareous ground or on open sunny eastern slopes at elevations of 70 to 1900 meters in eastern Indonesia and New Guinea as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial in forest litter or calceolaris soil or lithophyte on barren conglomerate rocks with tall, erect, branching, purplish, slightly fractiflex, smooth, leafy stems carrying many, papery, alternating, linear-lanceolate, deciduous leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, racemose inflorescence with 1 to 4, crystaline flowers that arise on the upper nodes of older, leafless canes.
