Dendrobium harveyanum is found in Yunnan province of China, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam at elevations of 1100 to 1700 meters as a rare, small sized, cool growing epiphyte on tree trunks and large branches from with erect, spindle-shaped, deeply sulcate stems with 2 to 9, apical, deciduous, ovate-oblong, leathery leaves that blooms in February through April on an pendant, to 15 cm long, few to several flowered, racemose, lax inflorescence that arises from the nodes near the apex of older leafless canes with 2 to 9, fragrant flowers scented of honey.
