Bulbophyllum rothschildianum is found in southern Yunnan Province of China, northeastern India, Assam and Myanmar as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical leaf and blooms on a basal, erect, few flowered, umbellate inflorescence that has fragrant [ie. bad] flowers occuring in the spring and fall. This species needs to be grown in a pot or basket with a fast draining medium, partial shade, ample water and fertilizer and good air circulation.
