Bulbophyllum orthoglossum is found in Sulawesi and the Philippines in primary and remnant forests at elevations up to 300 to 1400 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clustered, conical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, leathery, oblong, obtuse, acute leaf and blooms on an erect, 25 to 30 cm long, successive few flowering inflorescence with fragrant flowers. This species enjoys hot temperatures with high humidity, partial shade and good air movement.
