Bulbophyllum facetum is endemic to the Philippines in the mountanous region of Luzon at elevations of 1200 meters growing as an epiphyte on tree trunks in shady locations or the rocks below them with well spaced 5cm ovoid, pseudobulbs with persistent basal bristles carrying a single, apical, oblong to elliptic, leathery petiolate leaf that blooms on an erect, 6 cm long, basal, single bracted inflorescence carrying a single flower that opens in the morning and closes by early afternoon only to reopen the next day.
This species is best grown in hot to warm temperatures, given ample water and fertilizer, partial shade and pots or baskets with an open medium. The flowers each morning reopen and then close at midday to repeat the process again mostly for four days.
