Catasetum expansum 'Myra' HCC/AOS x 'Midori' AM/AOS

Catasetum expansum often takes a back seat to its more popular cousin Catasetum pileatum.  I suppose this is because expansum is a bit smaller but I think it makes up for this with all of the color varieties. The two parents used here are recently awarded and represent today's standard of excellence in this species. 'Myra' is a typical expansum with green/yellow flowers covered in burgundy spots and a large darker callus, while 'SVO Midori' is an unusual deep green with yellow callus. This combination was purposely made to “pull out” as many color varieties as possible.
