Bulbophyllum trigonobulbum is found in Sulawesi in forests at elevations of 800 to 1100 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with 0.9 to 4 cm between each distinct, ovoid, rounded to distinctly obtusely 3 angled pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an arching, somewhat thickened, glabrous, rather dense, 8.8 to 14 cm long, 16 to 34 flowered inflorescence with acute floral bracts.
