This species is native to Costa Rica, Panama and Guatemala, where it grows as an epiphyte at altitudes of 40 to 1,600m. \u003cem\u003eTillandsia Rhomboidea \u003c\/em\u003eis similar in structure to Tillandsia Concolor, however it is a much larger plant and has many more leaves. The foliage of the \u003cem\u003eTillandsia Rhomboidea\u003c\/em\u003e is quite stiff, and bronze \/ green in colour depending on light conditions. The \u003cem\u003eTillandsia Rhomboidea\u003c\/em\u003e develops a very nice inflorescence spike, which is chunky, and a bright orange \/ yellow in colour. From the inflorescence spike is produced purple, tubular flowers.
